SedVac - Sediment Removal System
From Water & Wastewater
The SedVac system features an innovative design capable of maintaining flow rates while resisting clogs. It handles heavy sediment and grit that traditional vacuum pipe systems leave behind, increasing plant capacity with minimal structural changes. The SedVac Sediment Dredge System is a sediment removal system designed to clean your clarifier by effectively removing the compression zone layer of sludge. Unlike clog-prone vacuum pipes, the SedVac system can handle high concentrations of sludge and grit and is capable of consistently removing solids of 3% concentration across a wide range of influent quality. Its unique header wing design features 4-inch-high intakes that significantly reduce the opportunity for clogging and remove much less water than competing systems.
Product Details
SedVac also provides a unique cost advantage for sludge removal in long-length tanks. Where traditional chain and flight systems would require additional chain, flights, tracking, wear shoes, and associated components as basin length increases, the SedVac unit only requires a lengthy hose and extended track assembly.
Advantages
- Proven operation beneath tube and plate settlers
- Maintains flow rates & resists clogs
- Supports both vacuum & pump configurations
NSF/ANSI STANDARD 61
NSF/ANSI STANDARD 61
SedVac is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61 for drinking water applications.
Features
SedVac’s triangle-shaped header departs from traditional industry designs in order to address common clogging issues. The 4-inch-high intake engulfs sludge at its densest level, handling sediment loadings up to 3 percent and cleaning all the way down to the floor.
Chassis
Chassis
Our unique chassis design is the crux of the SedVac system, capable of withstanding the pulling power of our winch systems and the harsh elements of submerged environments.
Traction Winch System
SedVac’s no-slip traction winch provides positive movement at programmed speeds and cycles within short and long basins up to 380 feet.
Track Assembly
The track assembly keeps the system secured to the floor, preventing binding and derailing. Its design makes it easy to install and requires minimal infrastructure changes.
Flexible Wipers
SedVac’s flexible wipers scrape the floor and walls of the basin clean.
Pumps
Header-mounted pumps are available in various flow rates to handle the toughest of facility sediment loadings.
