Spark Extinguishing System
From Fire Protection
Sparks and glowing particles occur during some technological processes due to friction, static charges, or introduction of foreign particles. These sparks are further carried by air through pipes and stop in a filtration unit, tank or a silo, where carried material can start smoldering, which can lead to fire or destructive explosion. To minimize the risk of fire and protect technological equipment, personnel, and to lower possible outages due to fire, RSBP offers a tested spark extinguishing system as prevention against fire.
- great effectiveness and short reaction time of system
- possibility of fitting on short tubes too
- flexible and modular system
- ease of installation
- the design of the nozzles prevents clogging
- automatic checking that detectors are not fouled
- automatic restoration of operation
- suitable for outdoor applications
Sparks and Glowing Particles Occur During Some Technological Processes Due to:
- static charges
- addition of foreign particles
- spontaneous combustion
Base of the spark extinguishing system is created by highly sensitive optical detectors that within several milliseconds react to a presence of glowing sparks in transport systems. When these sparks or hot spots show up, a control unit immediately receives a detector impulse, and based on electronic evaluation within several thousands of a second activates a quick valve and extinguishing nozzles in a transport system create conical fog of extinguishing medium, and thus extinguish undesirable sparks and hot particles. After finish of system activation and efficient removal of danger the system automatically reverts to a stand-by regime.
