T-T - Model HY - Submersible Dredging Pump
The HY range of submersible dredging pumps will pump settled slurry, containing solids up to 125mm diameter, and concentration up to 70% by weight of the liquid. Standard submersible pumps can have a problem in handling solids which settle at the bottom of the sump or tank, and while all the liquid is pumped, the normal intake velocity is insufficient to pick up solids for pumping.
On our Dredging Pumps, a heavy-duty agitator below the impeller disturbs the solids, creating a slurry which is easily pumped, and at the same time keeps the pump inlet port clear of potentally blocking solids.

A HY Dredging Pump was used in the decommissioning of some works in Kent. Previously 12m diameter x 12m deep tanks, deep filled with silt from a cement plant were emptied by a contractor taking in excess 3 months, however after the installation of a HY8/5C, the tanks took just days to clear and the client was delighted with the results.
