UltraGranulator - Model Type PS-C - Natural Rubber
Economical size reduction of natural- and synthetic rubber of any kind. The feed material can be in the form of bales, sheets, fibers, chips or crumbs, vulcanized or unvulcanized, with or without textile plies.A guillotine integrated into the infeed chute that cuts the rubber bales, at intervals, into slices that can be size reduced thereby saving one processing step.

For almost any type of processing it is necessary that the bales are size reduced into granules or powder in order to achieve shorter dissolving, kneading and mixing times, especially better conveyability and a continuous production process. Different preparation processes are used for size reduction depending on the requirement with regards to preparation of rubber and the desired final particle size. It is differentiated between a single step or two-step granulation.
In cases were relatively simple types of rubber such as NBR, SBR and EPDM are to be granulated from a standard bale size to granule particle sizes smaller than 10 mm, the granulating process can often be performed in a single step. For different types of rubber however, a dusting agent must be added. The rubber bales are fed by hand or via a conveyor belt into the PALLMANN UltraGranulator®, series C and are directly granulated to the de sired end size. The particle size is determined by the screen mesh size installed in the knife mill. A pneumatic aspiration system is installed downstream from the rubber granulator in order to discharge the heat produced during the granulating process and also to transport the granules. For the size reduction of rubber bales, i.e. natural- and butyl rubber that are difficult to granulate, the mill can be supplied with a bale cutter integrated in the infeed chute.
