Model ABT-1600 - Image Particle Size Analyzer
ABT-1600 image particle analysis system is a multifunctional unit including testing options for image distribution test and particle shape analysis. Integrating traditional microscopy and advanced image processing technology, this unit consists of an optical microscope, CCD camera, image acquisition system, computer, printer, and software. The basic operation is performed by capturing the image in microscope using a special camera, then transmitting the image obtained to the computer through a proprietary image acquisition system. After performing the image capture, the image is processed and analyzed using specialized particle size analysis software. Finally results are output through the monitor and printer. Samples are characterized by direct-image, direct-view, accuracy, broader range, automatic recognition, statistics and quantification.
In addition to examining the shape of the particle...
In addition to examining the shape of the particle, it gives particle size distribution and the ratio of length to diameter (L/D) among other things; creating a new method for particle size testing in scientific research and production fields.
Softwares
- Image processing function: Gray-scale transform, color transform, separation, delete, rotate, smoothing, crop, paste, filter, zoom in or out, patching, etc. The combination of the functions can be used to fill and desparkle. It can also crop and paste several images to make up another complete image. Hence, the sample is more representative and the results more accurate, authentic and reliable.
- Data processing function: the computer will automatically give the number of the particles, the number of pixels covered by each particle, subsequently the surface area, volume, equivalent diameter, median length, median width, the ratio of length to diameter (L/D), data and image of particle size distribution are obtained.
- Print: It can print original image and test report in English, including particle size distribution data, distribution figure, the number of particles, the ratio of length to diameter (L/D), etc.
Principle
- Calibration Method: Calibrate the size of each pixel by standard special graduated scale of the microscope, after that measure the size of the image by calculating the number of the pixel. The adopted unit is μm.
- Test principle: Using statistics involving the number of particles and the number of the pixels covered by each particle, the equivalent circular area and volume of equivalent sphere are obtained. Through this, the diameter of the equivalent circular area, diameter of equivalent spherical volume and the ratio of length to diameter (L/D). are obtained. ABT-1600 uses 100 pixels as one unit for convenient calculation. Table 1 shows the particle size value of 100 pixels according to corresponding different amplification ratio of objective:
