Products Details
The team here at SSI understands the difficulties that come with complying with Fish Handling requirements which is why we have devoted ourselves to maintaining the highest standards of designing, manufacturing and installing Fish Handling Traveling Water Screens.
Rebuilding traveling water screens is not a simple task, but thankfully SSI can rebuild all designs, makes and models of traveling water screens. Our rebuilding program refurbishes traveling water screens back to their original specifications using only exact replacement parts.
Once your water screen is at our facility, it is completely disassembled and sandblasted to bare metal. The complete traveling water screen is then inspected by our engineers, and a detailed inspection report is prepared, outlining its exact condition and what repairs are necessary. Should the traveling water screen require repairs beyond the scope of the original cost estimate, a new estimate is prepared and emailed, along with digital photos to the customer for evaluation.
The Environmental Protection Agency issued its final regulation implementing the Clean Water Act 316(b) on August 15, 2014 for existing plants with (CWIS)cooling water intake structures. On October 14, 2014 the regulation went into effect for plants in the scope of the rule that are withdrawing more than 2 million gallons of water per day (MGD). This EPA ruling effects over 1000 existing power plants and industrial facilities (e.g., chemical manufacturing, pulp and paper, iron and steel) which impact the CWIS (cooling water intake structure) impingement rule. This regulation by the EPA has an impact on fish, shellfish and early life stages of organisms through intake screens. -ITALY
