Ex-Situ Thermal Remediation
GTR-E is an evolution of the GTR line of technology specially designed for batch ex-situ thermal desorption of onsite excavated soils. The contaminated soils are excavated and placed in a pile. While building the pile, heater tubes are layered following a 'lasagna' process: a first series of heater tubes are placed atop a first layer of contaminated soil, and then covered by a new layer of contaminated soil, wherein the process is scaled as necessary for the project's goals. In a standard design, piles are 60 feet long and 10 feet high, and the volume of the soil to be treated determines the final width of the pile.
