Hazardous Air Pollutants
Hazardous air pollutants are air pollutants that are defined by the Federal Clean Air Act as being a threat or risk of cancer or other serious adverse health affects. MDEQ implements hazardous air pollutant (HAP) regulations that include maximum achievable control technology (MACT) standards and other National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air pollutants (NESHAP) and provides technical assistance for the requirements of regulations to anyone who may be interested.
MDEQ Activities Include:
- Processing regulation amendments and regulated facility identification
- Technical assistance for the requirements of regulations to anyone who may be interested
