A large percentage of our testing work involves emissions testing for the demonstration of compliance with regional, state or federal EPA regulations. ESS is equipped to handle any testing needs, from criteria pollutants to hazardous air pollutants and beyond.
ESS maintains an inventory of state-of-the-art sampling equipment, three (3) mobile laboratories/gas sampling trailers, and customized data acquisition and data reduction software.
Capabilities are further enhanced by a variety of specialty sampling equipment including high temperature sampling probes, extensive custom glassware, and an array of sample lines, umbilicals, and conditioning systems.
Many of our industrial clients are experiencing new or revamped environmental regulations. Criteria pollutants are no longer the primary environmental concern. Industry is also concerned with HAPs, MACT, Title V, Metals, Dioxins, Speciated Organics, and a population that is much more aware of air quality. As environmental regulations outpace method development, sampling expertise and regulatory knowledge are paramount to a successful stack testing program.
We specialize in implementing complex test protocols specific to each client's process, facility, and permit requirements. Taking the time to understand our client’s specific emissions needs allows us to develop custom test protocols designed to handle the unique challenges of each emission unit.

ESS has derived numerous chemical sampling methods for the measurement of compounds not particularly identified in promulgated, conditional or other test methodologies.
