ACCSR uses its exclusive stakeholder mapping and engagement tool, the Stakeholder 360® to help our clients understand and navigate their organisation’s network of stakeholders, predict socio-political risk, and develop responsive strategies that facilitate new understandings, new coalitions, and new ways of achieving common interests.
We work together with Dr Robert Boutilier, the developer of the Stakeholder 360®. Dr Boutilier has recently published a book on the Stakeholder 360, “Stakeholder Politics: Social Capital, Sustainable Development and the Corporation”, published by Greenleaf.
Stakeholder 360® projects have been used by clients to plan sustainable community development in more than 30 communities in Australia since 2006. The stakeholders included local, state and federal government ministers, advisers and bureaucrats, regulatory and statutory authorities, social and environmental NGOs, community and residents action groups, special interest, recreational and sporting groups, industry groups, business partners, investors, membership and professional associations, and company personnel.
The clients included listed companies and government business enterprises. Their businesses included mining, ports, manufacturing, financial services, transportation, construction, urban development, energy and water. The issues spanned social and environmental impacts of the clients’ businesses, resource planning, coordination and usage, community and infrastructure development, quality of life, climate change, service quality and relationship development.
The stakeholder environments were therefore complex and rich, replete with sustainable development and corporate responsibility issues that are common to many companies and government agencies operating in fast-moving, complex environments.
