Supra - Groundwater Sustainability Assessment Service
From Geological and Hydrogeological Consultancy
Groundwater sustainability study to evaluate and simulate the short, medium, and long term water supply demand.
Details
Sustainable groundwater water supply as a component of integrated water resource management is defined as the “practice of bringing together multiple stakeholders with various viewpoints to determine how water should best be managed”. It is aimed to determine whether the water supply demand associated with the current operations and future planned development is sustainable; to identify the potential impacts on other users of the same groundwater source (the aquifer) and in addition, to also determine if there is adequate water reserves to support clients operational demand. It consist of:
- Desk Review
- Site Assessment
- Groundwater Pumping Test
- Groundwater Balance Quantification
- Qualitative Impact Assessment
- Gap Analysis and Summary
SUPRA approach for Groundwater Balance Quantification presents the outcome of the groundwater balance calculation exercise based on available primary (pumping test and available groundwater availability literature) and secondary data (from other available documents). Our engineer determines the model by simulating the short-term and long-term effects of active groundwater extraction (both onsite and offsite).
Furthermore, the Integrated Qualitative Impact Assessment would qualitatively outlines the impacts of the client’s future expansion plan to the groundwater availability and general impacts to the environment and the sorrounding communities. Groundwater availability, environmental impact, and sustainability assessment will be assesed to generate comprehensive qualitative impact assessment.
