Sva/Safety Audit Service
The security and vulnerability assessment incorporates best practices utilized throughout the nation and based on standards identified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), U.S. FEMA 428 Standard (Primer to Design Safe School Projects in Case of Terrorist Attacks) and the Texas School Safety Center Audit Toolkit, as well as additional best practices which come from Prepared Response's experience of working with critical infrastructure throughout the nation for over a decade.
SVA/Safety Audit process includes a limited review of site specific policies and procedures, staff interviews and visual inspection of the facilities. The staff interviews include input from key stakeholders including the site managers, secretary and facilities engineer. The interview results form the basis of the site's perceived safety and security profile. This profile is in turn validated by the independent observations of a Prepared Response consultant who is trained and experienced in the application of the survey methodology.
SECURITY & VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT COMPLETION
Upon completion, the assessment is submitted electronically to facilitate distribution, comment and use as a reference. The document presents observations and findings and typically includes actions to be implemented to strengthen the site's current security and emergency management posture. Images are incorporated into the assessment report to highlight observations made for best practice and possible areas for improvement. The security and vulnerability assessment will also include a short and long term action plan section which identifies key improvement considerations within each vulnerability category.

A security and vulnerability assessment is a comprehensive on-site assessment intended to:

- Compile a series of recommendations related to the site conditions
- Benchmark selected sites against related sites and standards to establish a basis for budgeting and resource allocation
