Ingen - Emissions Forecaster Software
Our Emissions Forecaster software, developed by Performance Improvements (PI), is an easy-to-use tool for forecasting GHG emissions and identifying accurate emissions projections from onshore and offshore installations. It quickly forecast emissions, such as NOx, and CO2, and provides fully auditable forecasts with accurate emission projections and energy usage based on existing data. It provides operators with the ability to calculate emissions for a single asset, across multiple assets in a field, by hub, by region or globally. The Forecaster optimises energy consumption in new projects and helps to ensure compliance with offshore environmental regulations, such as the PPC Regulations and the Emissions Trading Scheme. It gives early warning of an excess or deficiency in CO2 credits. It ensures that operators are using the Best Available Technique (BAT).
Why it is needed
Legislation, reputation management and social obligation have meant that the reduction of pollutants emitted from developments and site installations is now a key corporate driver and a priority for continuous improvement.
The Forecaster has been rigorously tested over the last 15 years; the tool now boasts an accuracy of better than 95%, with results achieved in a matter of hours. The software was transferred to Ingen in 2018 when both companies became part of Advisian.
It is currently being used worldwide with great success. It can be either stand-alone or web-based and is backed up by a large team of multi-disciplinary engineers to offer continuous technical support.
How it works
The user inputs predicted site throughput data for several periods, and different operating modes together with equipment operating parameters. The Emissions Forecaster will then accurately calculate the required configuration of equipment together with energy and emissions for each period and mode. Advanced user options can be used for further detailed interrogation of data.
The outputs displayed are clear and presentable. Drill-downs are available for further breakdown of energy consumption, equipment operating efficiencies and associated emissions. Various options can be established to provide comparative scenarios utilising a range of equipment, which provides a preferred option.
How we can help
We specialise in process plant and equipment optimisation for the oil & gas industry. By promoting sustainability and operational excellence, we continually demonstrate substantial OPEX / CAPEX reductions, whilst maintaining or increasing production throughput. Our specialist software products can be used in all stages of the asset lifecycle and add real value for forecasting and monitoring energy and emissions performance.
