Today's lithium cells and batteries are more energy dense than ever, bringing a steadily growing number of higher-powered devices to the market. This increased energy density is accompanied by greater risk, together with the need to manage it more effectively.
The risks posed by lithium cells and batteries generally depend on their type, size, and chemistry. Lithium cells and batteries present both chemical and electrical hazards. Most importantly, the higher energy density and the flammable electrolytes contained within lithium cells and batteries can cause them to overheat and ignite, under certain conditions.
The course will also encompass the emergency procedures and first-aid measures for handling minor incidents and emergencies associated with lithium cells and batteries.

Once the required study time of the DOT Hazmat Transportation Advanced General Awareness Training has been completed, you can take the final exam. When you pass the final exam, you will receive an electronic course completion certificate that will be emailed to you immediately.
