Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program Training Course
From Food Safety
The Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program is recognized by retailers and foodservice providers around the world who require a rigorous, credible food safety management system. The SQF certification program aims to reduce assessment inconsistencies and costs of multiple assessment standards. It is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and links primary production certification to food manufacturing, distribution and agent/broker management certification. Administered by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), SQF benefits from continual retailer feedback about consumer concerns. These benefits are passed on to SQF certified suppliers, keeping them a step ahead of their competitors.
The Safe Quality Food Institute Mission: To deliver consistent, globally recognized food safety and quality certification programs based on sound scientific principles, consistently applied across all industry sectors, and valued by all stakeholders
A designated SQF Practitioner must complete a HACCP training course and be experienced and competent to implement and maintain HACCP-based food safety plans. In addition, he/she must have an understanding of the SQF Code(s) and the requirements to implement and maintain SQF Systems. Successful completion of the online Implementing SQF Systems Exam meets this requirement. However, pursuing a course of study either in a classroom setting or online prior to taking the exam is highly recommended
