An initial lack of teaching skills is an inherent problem in industry, where the major criteria for hiring is technical skill rather than teaching expertise, which for most new supervisors is a new profession to be learned. Many trainers are also asked to teach without ever having been taught how to do so.
This software program is also aimed at improving the teaching skills of experienced supervisors and instructors. Many experienced instructors will not attend live workshops as they are concerned about others becoming aware of their weaknesses. There is a tendency that those who are most in need of training are those who are the least likely to attend workshops. The software enables those instructors to learn privately, at their own pace, and interactively with immediate and detailed feedback.
Management can also benefit. The product was also created for cost and logistical reasons. A one-week instructional skills workshop can cost about $2,000 for 6 participants. Many businesses have dozens of employees who are required to train others. Aside from the problem of the time needed to train so many supervisors, most companies do not have the funding to provide all of those supervisors (and future supervisors) with a train-the-trainer instructional skills workshop.
Brochures, books, and web resources are non-interactive. In other words, these resources do NOT provide instructors with feedback about how well they are learning the content. Instructor led 'train-the-trainer' courses are effective but expensive to schedule and require taking employees off shift and entail travel and hotel expenses.

On average, it should take about 1/2 hour to learn each topic for a total of approximately 8 hours.
Approximately 30% of the screens in this software are interactions that make the learner think. As well, brochures and books and most web resources do not utilize video. This is critical since video is essential for teaching some skills, such as by demonstrating good and bad examples of teaching. As well, the costs for brochures and books can be substantial over time.
Traditional and online courses have an inherent problem in that knowledge is often gained over months, which does not solve the need for immediate skills. As well, these courses typically only focus on a subset of the needed skills. A compounding problem is that new full-time trainers often only have the time to 'survive' and do not have extra time to take a course. This can be even worse for trainers who are also working full-time in addition to their new teaching/training duties. As far as is known, there is no comparable product.
The program essentially runs as an executable file that will run on most all computers. Consequently, for those with a site license, the zipped file can be downloaded from any LMS system. The program is built so that your company can substitute your own text, pictures and even video should you wish to custom the application to your needs.
