Benefits of Diffused Aeration
Diffused aeration systems are installed to prevent thermal stratification. During warmer periods water bodies suffer from thermal stratification - when the water in your pond, lake or reservoir becomes separated into layers. The top layer contains oxygen-rich warmer water, the bottom layer cooler, oxygen-deficient water. The top and bottom layer do not mix because of the differences in density within the thermocline.
