Considerations for Use of Passive/No-Purge Groundwater Sampling - Video
Passive groundwater sampling is a cost-saving approach accepted by regulators. Data quality often meets or exceeds that of purge sampling. Low-flow sampling methods replaced bailer sampling due to data quality concerns of the “rough and tumble” bailer approach, but also to minimize waste footprint. No-purge sampling often reduces waste to zero and takes a fraction of the time that it takes to wait for purge parameter stability. Now, Department of Defense-supported studies are showing equivalent data quality too. A recent ASTM Standard D7929-14 provides a nationally-recognized standard for implementation.
