Belzona range of metal repair compounds and protective coatings minimise the effects of abrasion, erosion-corrosion, and cavitation on new or damaged pumps, while simultaneously increasing efficiency and performance.
The Belzona system for pumps using Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) and 1341 (Supermetalglide) is a cold-applied, durable solution that provides long-term repair and protection from erosion-corrosion to the internal area of a pump. It has been engineered to resist the attack of floating particles as well as breakdown from cavitation, and can be achieved with minimal downtime and at a much lower cost than direct part replacement.
Pumps are susceptible to damage due to erosion-corrosion, cavitation and sometimes chemical attack which can lead to the deterioration of efficiency by as much as 15-20%. As a result, this will create serious problems and inconvenience for plants, including higher operating costs (as much as 10-15% extra energy consumption), frequent maintenance expenses, unplanned outage, and expensive replacement of parts.
Apart from restoring the equipment to a like-new condition with Belzona metal repair composites, the Belzona coatings can improve efficiency up to 3% - 8% on new pumps as well as up to 20% on those already in service. This system is now available with potable water certification, with WRAS and NSF approvals.
