StormSensor Scute in Action!! Video
We call it a Scute™. It is currently measuring the flow and temperature of hypothetical stormwater running through a replica municipal pipe. When deployed en masse over a large area, our Scutes™ become StormSensor | Terrapin™, the stormwater industry’s first cost-effective self-healing mesh hardware network capable of tracking both water quality (turbidity included) and quantity throughout municipalities, industrial sites, and on construction sites, to identify problems early (flooding, pollution sources) and direct efforts to fix specific problems rather than apply an expensive blanket, hope-based approach.
Terrapin™ transmits readings to the cloud in real time, where StormSensor | Supervisor™ presents data visualizations via graph or map. As we deploy sensors and collect data on a larger scale, we will be able to (1) use predictive analytics to foresee pollutant loading and ultimately prevent it from happening, and (2) optimize existing municipal stormwater infrastructure by quickly identifying and fixing key problem areas.
