River Monitoring Applications

  • Monitoring Sewage Flow

Monitoring Sewage Flow is a critical tool for local governments, for water and waste-water utilities and for industrial plants. Sewage monitoring can prevent environmental disasters such as sewage overflow within populated neighborhoods or excessive waste flow into local lakes, rivers or sea. Sewage monitoring is also an important tool for short term and long term planning of the sewers infrastructure. Short term refers to just-in-time and cost effective maintenance. For example, sending the technical team to the correct manhole at the correct time to clean and eliminate obstructions. Long term planning refers to designing the correct pipe diameters and correct slopes to contain sewage from new new buildings and plants. Sewage monitoring is a tool for billing plants who produce sewage above their water intake and a tool for plants which utilize water to request lower utility bills. Solid Applied Technologies provides a complete and tested solution for Sewer Monitoring.

  • Environmental Water Analysis

Now for the first time you can measure ion levels in drinking / tap water, rivers and lakes using one probe and one set of calibration solutions. We have probes specially tailored for environmental testing. Our Environmental probes measure Chloride, Ammonium and Nitrogen or we have a total nitrogen probe measuring Ammonium and Nitrogen. Each probe can be calibrated in our unique calibration solutions allowing you to calibrate all sensors simultaneously and take measurements in drinking or river water. Probes are also available in our standard four or six ion combinations and can be custom packaged upon request.

  • Environment monitoring

Environmental monitoring is a natural application for our solar units. Using our satellite modems, these systems can monitor vital remote areas, keep an eye on rivers or used as a remote weather station, giving us the ability to preserve our wilds while having minimal impact to achieve that goal. Since they are self-contained, they can be relocated quickly with ease, keeping costs down.

Water Treatment Solutions for Turbidity Removal

Turbidity is a measure of the loss of light transmittance through a liquid due to suspended particles. The more particles in the water, the murkier it looks or the higher the turbidity. This is a measure of the quality of the water. It is measured in units called Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU). Turbidity can be caused by run off after a heavy rain as erosion washes soil into a river or lake. It is often increased in the spring and fall when the water temperature at different levels in a lake change causing a turnover of those levels, bringing sediment, plants, and algae to the top.

  • Continuous Monitoring of Surface Water

The Sorbisense method is especially suitable for measurements in dynamic environments. For example, in rivers, streams and lakes.

The method is innovative and allows you to implement continuous and cost effective measurements in both urban and in rural areas. For example, measuring the leaching of nutrients from the cultivation of wetlands and measuring water quality in rainwater and sewage.

  • Groundwater Monitoring for Water Resource Management

One of the greatest problems facing the planet is the management, conservation and equitable distribution of fresh water supplies. The fresh water sources may be lakes, rivers or ground water aquifers, most of which are now under stress.

  • River Level Monitoring -

SUMMARY Fielded water level measurement stations, based on GaugerGSM sensor, report real time stream levels and flow. Stations are located across a stream-rich region of the upper Galilee feeding the Jordan river in the northern part of Israel. The region is a popular tourist destination due to its biblical origins, rich flora and fauna. Field data is available over the Internet to authorized engineers, site supervisors and Government officials. remote monitoring station - close up THE NEED The water basin in the Upper Galilee maintains a delicate balance between recharges, net precipitation, domestic and irrigation consumption, and water tourism (canoeing). Local and state officials are tasked to study the tradeoffs, manage risks and take actions to keep the balance. Monitoring stations are essential for data collection. remote monitoring station - overall

Surface Water Quality Testing for the Environmental Monitoring Industry

Aquaread stock a wide range of testing equipment designed to track a number of parameters and water quality testing measures. These can be used in many different bodies of water, including rivers, lakes, streams and seawater. The advantages of tracking water quality and testing for numerous parameters means that it is easier to notice changes which could cause damage to aquatic ecosystems. Early detection not only helps with monitoring water quality, but also helps to put mitigating measures in place. We have a wide range of parameters, although the most popular of these allow for surface water testing, pH, temperature, electrical conductivity and measuring levels of dissolved oxygen. These are standard measurements included in most standard Aquaprobes, although if you require more specific parameter testing then there are a number of additional parameters which can be added onto to the base Aquaprobe to compensate this.

    Monitor Dredging Slurry Flow

Thousands of dredges are operated to maintain navigation channels in our rivers, lakes and harbours and to mine sand and gravel for the construction industry. Managing and optimizing production from a dredge requires continuous monitoring of pipeline pressure, vacuum and slurry velocity. The operating conditions are extremely harsh and any sensing components in contact with the abrasive slurry can be damaged. But dredge operators need accurate real-time flow information to properly manage production so equipment manufacturers have been seeking innovative monitoring solutions...
