Visual inspection solutions for the borescopes for turbine and turbine components inspection

Turbines and generators are important pieces of machinery that need to be properly maintained and repaired to ensure maximum service life and safety. Non destructive remote visual inspection of turbines with a video borescope is a cost effective and efficient way to inspect without having to disassemble a turbine. Steam and gas turbines run at extremely high pressures, and they need to be kept in good mechanical shape to efficiently do their jobs. Not only is efficiency a concern, no one wants to learn there is a...

  • Phosphonate Testing in Hard Water

Testing phosphonates in hard water can be difficult due to interference from high levels of calcium. Here we present a phosphonate test method for hard water samples. The method is based on a chemical masking of the calcium. The WAT hard water phosphonate test uses C30 Spectrophotometer to measure the chromogen PMB and digital thermoreactor to digest the phosphonate compound. The thermoreactor capacity of 16 simultaneous vials provides for running critical data quality assurance samples.

  • KRYSTAL KLEEN CAR WASHES REMOVES WATER SOFTENERS AFTER SCALEWATCHER INSTALLATION

Krystal Kleen Car Washes in Hoover, Alabama has removed the water softeners from its three self-service car washes following the installation of the computerized, electronic, water-conditioner Scalewatcher® from Scalewatcher North America. This has not only saved the company thousands of dollars a year in salt but also provided a short-term payback on the units. Krystal Kleen Car Washes is located in a hard water area, with Total Alkalinity of around 200mg/L. This necessitated Jim LeNoir, owner of Kyrstal...

  • Noise monitoring solutions for room acoustics

Room Acoustics concerns the way sound is created, propagated, perceived, measured and modelled inside enclosures. Enclosures can be dwellings, offices, workshops, factory halls, lecture rooms, auditoria, concert halls, transportation terminals, etc. Reverberation Time is the single most important parameter used to describe Room Acoustics, but in addition, parameters describing music quality and speech inteligibility are important.
