Alkaolin is the registered trademark for our powdered alumino silica kaolinite mineral mined & processed by MINORETM in UK. MINORETM collaborated with a leading independent technology innovation centre to demonstrate and validate the versatility and performance of Alkaolin®. The centre has expertise in translating research and ideas into marketable products across diverse sectors in the UK and globally. They helped MINORETM to develop prototype formulations and test them for various properties and applications.
We developed a number of formulations to test efficacy within a variety of industrial applications including thixotropic thickeners & binders for industrial applications & fillers & extenders for thermoplastics, rubber, polypropylene, mixed recycled plastic composites .
The results showed us that Alkaolin® can provide thixotropic behaviour and viscosity control for a wide variety of industrial applications, notably resin & adhesive sectors. It can also enhance the mechanical properties of polypropylene and mixed recycled plastic composites by increasing their stiffness, strength, modulus and impact resistance. The research document also identified applications within cosmetic sector & additives in printing inks.
