Water Storage for the Fire Safety Industry - Health and Safety - Fire Safety
When water storage for fire protection is needed, Superior Tank Co., Inc. (STCI) can provide bolted steel tanks or welded steel tanks. Our steel tanks can be engineered to a variety of relevant standards including National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and FM Approvals, ensuring our bolted tanks and welded tanks operate as needed in the event of an emergency. If needed, our steel tanks can also be used for potable water storage and can adhere to American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards. Compliance with both potable water storage standards and water for fire protection standards allows the same bolted steel tank or welded steel tank to be used for both applications, increasing the efficiency and lower construction cost.
Our bolted steel tanks are well suited for a variety of applications ranging from remote locations to restricted access urban settings. STCI bolted tanks are fabricated from smaller, individual steel panels which can be transported using compact vehicles. This significantly facilitates installation of our bolted tanks in hard to reach job sites such as hilltops. As STCI bolted steel tanks do not require large staging areas and steel panels are maneuverable, our bolted tanks can easily be used within existing infrastructure such as manufacturing plants, warehouses and oil refineries. In addition, our bolted tanks do not require welding or other hot work and therefore present considerably less risk of causing a fire. STCI bolted steel tanks are shipped to the job site with the final coating already in place and a variety of finishes are available including, factory powder coating, hot dipped galvanized as well as stainless steel.
In addition to bolted steel tanks, STCI also erects welded steel tanks for storage of water for fire protection. Our welded steel tanks range in size from 100,000 to 3,500,000 gallons and are available throughout the Southwestern United States. Similar to our bolted steel tanks, our welded steel tanks can be designed to a variety of standards including AWWA, NFPA and FM Approvals. Welded tank accessories such as nozzles, anti-vortex outlets, manways, and piping are fabricated in our manufacturing facility then shipped to the job site for installation. Our welded tank installation team has decades welded tank erection experience and specializes in welded steel tanks.
Regardless of your fire protection water storage needs, Superior Tank can provide a welded or bolted steel tank for your next project.
