Advantages of Wet Ice Blasting

Cleaning is often really just the transfer of dirt from one area to another.  The speck of dirt on the kitchen floor is transferred to the landfill. But, along that journey from kitchen to dump, the speck seems to multiply in size as more and more substances attach themselves to it.

A chemical spray is applied to soften the dirt to make it easier to wipe from the kitchen tiles. A sheet of paper towel is added to both the speck and chemical softener. Finally, a plastic garbage bag ties it all together.

But it doesn’t end there.  Often, a truck has to pick up the garbage, burning fossil fuels as it goes.  The landfill is constructed by adding concrete and liners to the hole in the ground.  The kitchen floor is clean, but the environment is now so much dirtier.

Regardless of the  waste and pollution we personally create, industry often takes it to a new level, especially with the industrial cleaning options commonly used. Sandblasting, or abrasive blasting, uses compressed air to propel particles of grit at a surface, in order to knock and scrape off corrosion, paint, or dirt that has been caked onto the substrate. The grit itself is hazardous to breathe and the substance removed can be toxic.
