Provision of hydrological, hydraulic and flood risk services
Hydro-Logic was appointed in 2007/08 to undertake a series of flood risk assessments for sites in Yateley that had previously been used for mineral extraction. The planned development included office, leisure complex and water sports on one of the adjacent lakes.
Hydraulic modelling for the adjacent River Blackwater was available from the Environment Agency, but modelling was required of the tributary watercourses that flowed along the site boundary and were in close proximity to residential areas. Mitigation options were investigated and modelled to both formalise the flood balancing storage facilities on the site and to provide improved conveyance in the watercourses.
