Level sensors play a leading role in the implementation of cloud technology for a range of industries, including grain storage and handling. BinMaster`s product line includes four sensor types that provide cloud-based connectivity, accurate bulk material mapping, and precise measurements of bin and silo contents

Cloud-based programs, such as BinCloud®, are compatible with a wide range of sensors and measurement technologies. The sensors` versatility lends them to be used with vessels of vastly different shapes and sizes, and in measuring all types of powders, solids, or liquids.

Level sensors provide better accuracy, improve worker safety, and save time, eliminating the need for staff to climb structures. BinMaster`s four continuous sensors most suitable for grain storage include non-contact radars, the 3DLevelScannerSmartBob®, and lasers.

Non-Contact Radar

BinMaster`s radar sensors offer superior performance in dusty powders and bulk solids of many bulk densities. Using 80 GHz frequency, the sensor has a focused 3° beam capable of measuring ranges up to 393 ft. (120 m). This technology is also capable of accuracy within 0.2 in. (0.51 cm), excelling in tall and narrow vessels.

The NCR-86 is offered with a plastic antenna, stainless-steel flange, or 1-1/2" NPT threaded connections. It is resistant to interference, and its advanced filters ensure rapid signal processing with update rates of less than one second.

3DLevelScanner

The BinMaster 3DLevelScanner, also known as the 3D Solids Scanner, is the only level sensor that measures multiple points on a material’s surface, providing continuous, non-contact volume measurement that accounts for irregular material topography. This advanced acoustics-based instrument is proven to perform in powders and bulk solids contained in bins, silos, domes, and warehouses, as well as open bunkers and piles.

With dust penetrating technology, 3D scanners provide continuous multi-point measurement for unsurpassed volume accuracy. The 3DLevelScanner also helps detect irregular material surfaces, cone up/down conditions, or dangerous sidewall buildup.

SmartBob

SmartBob works like an automated tape measure, dropping a weighted cable to a solid material surface at timed intervals. The SmartBob II Remote is a proven, reliable level measurement system that features cable-based sensing technology.

Combined with LAN-based Binventory® software and remote control consoles, SmartBob offers the strongest, smartest cable-based inventory measurement system on the market today, with the ability to manage up to 255 bins with heights up to 150 ft. (45 m).

The SmartBob can be uniquely configured using a variety of cables, probe designs, and specialized options for solid, slurry, brine, and liquid applications. The sensor`s cable cleaning system ensures a long-lasting, hassle-free service life. Rugged SmartBob models feature the industry’s strongest cable and motor design, completely sealed in a strong, lightweight molded polycarbonate enclosure. SmartBob is available with explosion-proof and Class II, Groups E, F & G certifications, and requires no field calibration.

Laser

Lasers are suited for narrow vessels and lower or no-dust environments. These battery-powered, single-point sensors install quickly on silos or in remote locations where inventory monitoring has not been feasible due to lack of power. Both models below take interval readings from once per hour to once a day, with a battery life of three to five years.

The SPL-200 measures solids in silos up to 98 ft. (30 m) tall in low or no-dust environments.

The FVL-200 measures livestock feed in silos up to 35 ft. (10 m) tall
