The material fed in via the hopper is shreded into chips between the rotor knives and the fixed knife. The shred size is determined by the screen perforation. The PLC control automatically switches off the machine when the hopper is empty. The chips produced are conveyed out of the machine, e.g. by means of a transport screw, and fed to thermal recycling. With bulky materials, an enormous reduction in volume is achieved.
