The TECTA FCA method is a Fecal Coliform test that can be used on many wastewater samples, such as at various points in a wastewater treatment process. The FCA test detects only Beta-Galactosidase positive coliforms that are viable and culturable at 44.5°C, matching the characteristics of other enzyme-based Fecal Coliform tests in common use.
This is a summary of the internal evaluation of the quantitative TECTAlert FCA method against established reference methods for monitoring fecal coliforms (FC) in wastewaters of Canada. The evaluation was performed by Queen’s University in Canada with funding from the Southern Ontario Water Consortium and TECTA-PDS.
Verification Test Description
Experiments were done by Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada to confirm compatibility and the CFU/100mL quantitative performance of TECTAlert FCA method at various points in a wastewater treatment process.
