TEXVISION. ARTIFICIAL VISION APPLIED TO QUALITY CONTROL OF FABRICS

The textile-fashion industry is a traditional sector with a long history and a well-developed industrial structure. However, process automation in the textile industry has been slower than in other industrial sectors. In response to the current situation, the TEXVISION project was created with the aim of tackling this need or opportunity in the textile industry.

The project thus aims to integrate automation and digitalisation into the textile companies’ quality control processes to reduce both quality control processing time and human error. This will improve the company’s competitiveness by being able to offer a better quality product.

The Catalan Fashion Cluster, MODACC, together with the technology centre FITEX, PIVCVISA and companies such as ESTILMAR and TEX51, have launched a project called TEXVISION to automate quality control to eliminate or reduce defects in the textile production process. The project is funded by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (MINCOTUR).

The TEXVISION project focuses on studying advanced solutions for the automation and digitalisation of artificial vision applied to the quality control of textile fabrics.
