University of Zagreb, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Hydroscience and Engineering has been working on several projects regarding water and wastewater treatment. Their focus is on developing electrochemical and ultrasonic technologies for water disinfection with the efficiency of developed methods being evaluated by the presence of total coliforms and Escherichia coli (E.coli).

• reduce outsourcing services and costs for microbiological analysis,
• achieve research independence; and,
• receive rapid test results.
