Glass
Further to investments totalling several million dollars made over the past three years, 2M Ressources has processed over 50,000 metric tonnes of glass from bottles returned for refund, and more than 100,000 metric tonnes through separate collection. Glass is sorted according to quality and colour, then washed and crushed according to a number of grading standards.
Plastics
We recycle a wide range of plastic materials, including polyethylene terephthalate (PET), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), isotactic polypropylene (PP), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), high molecular weight polyethylene (HMW) and acrylic. In fact, new technology allows us to recycle almost all the plastic elements used in packaging materials. Based on your specifications, we will provide you with recycled material in bundles, pellets, or extruded forms.
Paper and Cardboard
The environmental benefits of recycling the fibre used in paper and cardboard manufacturing are well known: fewer trees are cut down, less water and energy are used and green-house gas emissions are reduced. In fact, most of us make use of these recycled materials on a daily basis, and the recovery chain is well established. 2M Ressources plays a key role in improving the paper and cardboard recovery chain throughout North America.
Aluminum
Recycled aluminium has the same properties as primary metal; it is 100% recyclable and can be recycled indefinitely. Recycling aluminium saves non-renewable resources and uses 95% less energy than is needed to produce primary metal. 2M Ressources is a certified conditioner and recycler of aluminium cans that have been returned for refund. Aluminium is sorted using an eddy current, which operates on the same principal as a magnet, except that it repels non-ferrous metals. The aluminium is also sorted manually. Then, the recycled aluminium is washed, crushed and bundled.
Metal
There are two types of metal, ferrous and non-ferrous, which includes aluminium, copper, tin, nickel, lead and zinc. Ferrous metal is sorted with the help of a magnet, while non-ferrous metal is sorted using an eddy current. The results are then sorted manually, and the composition of the various recovered metals is analyzed using advanced technology. The metal is crushed, cut and compacted, then either bundled or left in bulk depending on our customers’ specifications. These metals are all 100% recyclable and can be recycled indefinitely. In order to accommodate a number of customers, 2M Ressources buys even their steel in bundles.
