Sedimentation tanks or conventional gravity clarifiers are used in water and wastewater treatment as a physical unit operation through gravity for solid-liquid separation of readily settleable solids. The functions can be further enhanced using a solid contact clarifier which combines mixing, flocculation, and clarification in a single tank.

DAF systems are designed to remove total suspended solids (TSS), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), and oils and greases (O&G) from a wastewater stream. Contaminants are removed using a dissolved air-in-water solution produced by injecting air under pressure into a recycle stream of clarified DAF effluent.

Crystallization is a key purification technique for various sectors of the chemical process industries. Several approaches for industrial crystallization have evolved over time, and highly specialized crystallizer designs have been developed, especially in long-established industries. Solution crystallization is an important unit operation because the process can generate high-purity products from solutions containing significant levels of impurities with relatively low energy input.

The adjustable impellers installed on the central shaft are responsible for high speed dispersion or low speed mixing. The coaxial arrangement of the coaxial mixers, mixer blades, provides a high degree of flexibility.
