This ventilation system is suitable for bulk produce. Cooling air is blown right in to produce via ducts on the floor. Half circle ducts are efficient for use of short cold periods in spring and autumn. Also filling degree of the storage is high. Stack of the produce can be at maximum 5 meters high. Handling and moving of goods is in other hand more difficult than in box storage.

Space ventilation is espasially suitable for temporary transmit box storages. Placing of the boxes is realtively free in the storage and different consignments can be placed on their own `islands`. However little space is needed between boxes is needed so filling degree of the storage will be a bit smaller than in f.e.x. pressure wall ventilation. Also it is not very efficient in exploitation of short cold periods.

Pressure wall type ventilation system is suitable for long term box storages. Pressure wall is very efficient in utilisation of short cold periods in spring and in autumn because cooling air is blown directly inside box stack. Also filling degree is relatively high since boxes are placed side by side tightly together.
