Beneath the tranquil Marmara Sea, seismic forces sculpt the underwater landscape. Suspended sediment-laden currents surge, triggered by earthquakes. These turbidity currents intrigue scientists and can affect critical infrastructure like submarine cables and pipelines.

Our recent application note reveals observations by the SeaGuard instrument—a multiparameter current meter stationed on Istanbul`s seabed. Brace for mud flows, and unconventional currents as we explore underwater

EMINENT – Energy MINerals for the NEtzero Transition is a Norwegian project that aims to quantify the available amounts of minerals and to develop automatized extraction methods, accompanied by extensive environmental monitoring. A key part of the project in 2023 was an expedition to the Mid-Atlantic ridge to test new technology and to carry out environmental monitoring with a ROV and by long-term deploying instruments on the seafloor.

Oxygen is a prime parameter to measure in aquatic systems. Life and chemical balances depend on oxygen content. It is coupled with climate change, and eutrophication and changes in oxygen have a direct impact on fish stocks and aquaculture.

After more than 10 years of experience on thousands of shallow water optodes (4531, 5730, 4835) we now introduce the FDO701 sensing foils as an improved alternative also for deepwater measurements, using 4330 and 4831 optodes.
