Flotation

Biosludge - Model DAF - Continuous Flotation System

In a continuous system the biological treatment plant is continuously fed and the sludge is separated from the waste water in a separate clarifier. It is often so that this clarifier creates a lot of problems such as to light sludge and still too many suspended solids in the effluent. A conventional clarifier is after all a gravity sedimentation tank/settler.

AAQUA - Model SIEVE SF - Screw Filter

The AAQUA-SIEVE SF (Screw Filter) is a very robust screw which is perfect for a primary sieving in an open channel. The sieving is done by a perforated sieve plate with the desired perforation (3-10 mm). The whole construction is in stainless steel. Optionally a screw compacter can be provided as to compress even further the screenings.

AAQUA-FAT - Oil Skimmer and Grease Separator

The oil skimmer and grease separator AAQUA-FAT can be built in 2 ways: on a new or existing concrete oil separator/settling tank. In this tank a surface scraper is mounted to skim supernatant oil/fat to an oil/fat compartment as a complete stainless steel construction with a surface scraper and at the bottom sedimentation cones with automatic drain valves for sludge disposal.

Sedimentation-units can be equiped with or without platepacks. The use of plate settlers (model and shape) is determined by different variables such as: The settling rate of the particles. The concentration of suspended solids. The type of sediment. The required effluent quality. The flowrate.

Physical Chemical

AAQUA - Polymer Flocculant Dosing System

After forming small flocs in the coagulation step, flocculant is dosed in order to create bigger and more stable flocs. The flocculant is often called polymer or poly-electrolyte. Flocculant / poly-electrolyte must be prepared from a powder polymer or a fluid concentrated polymer. Polymer is a product that must be well mixed with water to prevent clot formation. After mixing with water a certain maturation time is necessary to "unfold" the polymer chain. Flocculant needs to "mature"  (30 to 45 minutes) before it can be dosed. Matured polymer is a sticky liquid. In smaller plants the production is matured in a "manual polymer mixing unit".  Usually the powder or liquid is mixed in a reaction tank 1 x per day. For larger installations we strongly recommend automatic polymer make up stations for both powder and liquid polymer applications.

Sludge Treatment

AAQUA - Decanter Centrifuge

The decanter centrifuge reliable and very efficient technique for sludge thickening. AAQUA has installed many decanter centrifuges and the whole control is fully automated. Both in biological sludge thickening and thickening of the physico-chemical sludge. Supervision is almost limited to the exchange of the sludge container and lubricating the decanter centrifuge.

AAQUA - Chamber Filter Presses

Chamber filter presses are mainly used for mineral sludge or physico chemical sludge with relatively little fat or oil to thicken. By using this technique often the highest solids concentrations are obtained.

Biological Treatment

AAQUA - Model SBR - Sequenching Batch Reactor

The AAQUA-SBR (Sequenching Batch Reactor) is an aerobic biological waste water treatment in a low loaded reactor. The already pre-processed waste water is brought into a large reactor where it comes into contact with the micro-organisms (active sludge, M.O.) and where oxygen is injected in a controlled manner. These micro-organisms convert the polution into carbon dioxide (CO2) and new biomass. This process requires a lot of oxygen wich is injected with different aeration techniques. The nitrogenbonds are also converted into nitrate (nitrification). An appropriated process control convert this nitrate into nitrogengas (denitrification). The whole process is PLC controlled and the operation of the valves and motors is very simple. All process variables can easily be adjusted with the Touch Screen. The most important process variables are registered on a Logger.

Filtration

AAQUA - Model CS - Curved Screen

The AAQUA CS (Curved Screen) is a simple mechanical sieve without moving pieces. The special shape of the wedge wire bars provides an efficient separation of the solids and the waste water. The solids are retained on the screen while water is falling through. The filtered water is discharged at the back. The curved screen as well as the casing are made in stainless steel. The application determines slot between the wedge wire bars and their shape.
