ART - In-Well Integrated Technologies

The ART In-Well Integrated Technologies combines in situ air stripping, air sparging, soil vapor extraction (SVE), and enhanced bioremediation/oxidation plus subsurface groundwater circulation. The ART Technologies is designed for installation within a four-inch or larger well.  The subsurface effects of a typical ART Integrated well are depicted in the Cross Section on the left portion of this page.

ART - Single Point-Sparge AS/VE Technologies

The traditional air sparging and vapor extraction (AS/VE) remedial option has been implemented at sites worldwide. The AS/VE remedy is based on air injection into the formation via a sparging point and recapturing of the volatized contaminants via vapor extraction from another location. The two points may be tens of feet apart. AS/VE was successful in attaining site closure at volatile compound impacted sites that fit within specific geological formations.  However, at many sites, significant risks to human health and the environment were encountered, mainly attributed to difficulties in capturing all air injected in the subsurface.

ART - Jection Remediation Technologies

As part of our continued efforts to improve the ART Technologies and increase efficacy, the ART-Jection Technologies alternative has been developed. This technology builds on the proven ART Integrated design and allows for the addition of amendments (gas or liquid) directly into the formation as part of the in-well processes. Amendments may include ozone, nitrogen and other chemical or biological amendments (gas or liquid). Chemicals added into the saturated zone via the injection point will be mixed further by the subsurface circulation and to be delivered throughout the sphere of influence. This innovative design, detailed in Figure 2, will provide clients a wider range of options to maximize the chances of success. It should be noted that in this design, the injection process and pumping may be operated alternately depending on site specifics to minimize the potential of extracting chemicals into the ART well and allow for dispersion into the subsurface.

LowPerma - Groundwater Technology

The technology is based on an innovative concept to enhance water flow into and out of the well.  The general idea is similar in approach to a typical piston pump with the well being the piston cylinder.  The LowPerma technology is designed to be installed in a four-inch well that consists of two separate screens at different elevations.  As shown in the attached figure, the lower screen is positioned near the bottom of the contaminated groundwater zone. The upper screen is located near the water table or the desired injection zone.
