Y Type strainers derive its name from the shape of its configuration that looks like “Y”. It is very useful when it comes to protecting pumps and compressors because the dirt or debris present in the latter is collected in the strainer without bargaining with the pressure drops. The Y type strainers are most suitable for horizontal and vertical pipelines where the debris is difficult to be removed from the liquid or gas. Found in thousands of pipelines, this strainer is the most economic and common for permanent use. Cast Y Type Strainers are one of the most common strainers present in the pipelines to handle small particles of dust.

Being a member of the simplex basket strainer, fabricated simplex basket strainers have a basket shaped design with a huge capacity of storing debris. Made up of stainless steel or carbon steel, this type of strainers has a slant top basket design. The design helps the flow of fluid technically because the slant top maintains low pressure drops. When it comes to the weight, fabricated simplex basket strainers weigh lesser than other basket strainers. Due to low weight, labours find it easier to remove the slant top for cleaning purposes. A major turn on of this basket strainer is the optional presence of back -flush or backwash option.

A Duplex Basket strainer with three way ball valves is a member of the double basket strainers family. Like all the double basket strainers, this strainer changes its basket when one gets heavy with the collected debris or dirt. It is, sometimes, called the advanced form of double basket strainers because of the presence of 3 way ball valves. The valves are used to control the flow of fluids so that the pressure can be maintained and the solid particles mixed with the fluid gets collected in the preferred basket. The three way ball valves can be controlled manually as well as electronically as per the convenience and preferences of our clients. We offer various modifications in double basket strainers to meet the “blueprint” of our customers. The three way ball valves play a vital role in connection of ports, however connection of all ports together at one point of time is not possible. The pressure is effectively maintained between 150# and 300#.

They are basically of 3 types: Conical strainers (Witch hat strainers). Flat Hat strainers. Plate type strainers. These strainers are shaped in the form of a cone that tapers towards the end and provides a channel whereby damage by contamination can be ceased. Though temporary in use, this strainer acts as a filter for pipes before they are initially cleaned.
