Weather Radar System
Polarimetric Doppler Weather Radar System
The ARC C250P radar is designed for high quality data acquisition and analysis in both research and operational settings. ARC utilizes the NCAR-developed TITAN/CIDD radar product generation and display software, which has been refined through decades of research and operational use around the planet, for both standard and polarimetric radar products. The ARC C250P has been implemented for studying precipitation variability and Quantitative Precipitation Estimation (QPE) for water resource management. It is an ideal operational system for monitoring severe and hazardous weather in real-time, as well as for post-event research and analysis of severe and hazardous weather and cloud and precipitation formation.
Polarimetric Doppler Weather Radar System
The ARC X250P radar is designed for high quality data acquisition and analysis in both research and operational settings. ARC utilizes the NCAR-developed TITAN/CIDD radar product generation and display software, which has been refined through decades of research and operational use around the planet, for both standard and polarimetric radar products. The ARC X250P has been implemented for studying wind shear around airports and Quantitative Precipitation Estimation (QPE). It is an ideal operational system for local monitoring of weather impacts on aviation and severe and hazardous weather in real-time. Research regarding advanced detection of wind shear events and water resource management have been conducted with the ARC X250P.
Mobile Polarimetric Doppler Weather Radar System
The ARC X250PM radar is an X250P radar that has been hardened for mobile outdoor applications and is mounted on either a trailer or flat bed truck. This radar system is installed on a platform that can be mounted on a stabilized truck for mobile operations or can be removed and mounted to a fixed platform. ARC also offers the radar without the platform mounted to a stabilized, instrumented truck or it can be mounted onto a trailer. The 250PM is also available in a dual frequency, dual polarity version or as a simple single polarity radar.

Digital Receiver for Remote Sensing Applications
ARC currently supports 2 receivers that are built in-house as well as receivers built by other manufacturers. We also provide down-converters in multiple frequency ranges. ARC started using the HiQ down-converter card, originally designed by NCAR, with proprietary interface software that conversed with the NCAR TITAN software suite and the ARC-GUI control suite of programs. This platform is still supported but is not suggested for new systems. A replacement IF digitizer and down-converter has been developed using a state-of-the-art, multi-channel, analog to digital converter card with an on-card FPGA for performing down-conversion of the IF data to baseband range-gate data. The same utilities are used to configure and monitor the performance of the receiver regardless of which digitizer card is used.
Antenna Control Unit for Radar Systems
The ARC-ACU is fully configurable and is designed to interface with new and existing radar systems. The ACU allows for individual surveillance, PPI and RHI sector scans, as well as sequences of these scans, to be produced, edited and executed locally or remotely.
