Advent - Effluent Treatment Plants

Effluent treatment is a basic need for all industries that use water for processing, utilities or washing & cleaning. The treatment starts from initial screening and primary treatment to adjust the pH and separate out oil and suspended solids, followed by secondary (biological) treatment to remove dissolved organics and tertiary polishing treatment to meet the disposal norms. Advent - Common Effluent Treatment Plants

For an individual SME. treatment of effluent is an arduous task as they are most often constrained by space, resources and skill to provide effective treatment to meet the stringent disposal norms. Ministry of Environment & Forest has adopted a policy to implement Common Effluent Treatment Plants to collectively treat the effluents from many industries in a given cluster.

Advent - Effluent Recycling Systems

Advent - Model AIS - Advent Integral System

The AIS is a path-breaking integration of aeration tank, clarifier and sludge recycling system into a single, compact unit without any moving parts. The System provides BOD removal efficiencies equal to or better than most configurations of activated sludge processes (such as SBRs and MBBRs) and fares better in terms of lower outlet TSS levels from the clarifier and higher operating biomass (MLVSS) concentrations in the aeration tank. The AIS incorporates patented concepts of induced sludge velocity for recycling the biomass, operated in conjunction with biomass condition in system. Global petrochemicals, refining and steel majors have successfully adopted this technology, while India has more than 40 installations with small individual plant to very large common effluent treatment plant (CETP).

Advent - Model ICSR - Integral Clarifier Sequencing Reactor

The ICSR is the latest upgradation of AIS, evolved out of anoxic-aerobic single tank configuration that has been successfully employed for numerous large scale biological nitrogen removal projects. ICSR has been developed to get best of the Extended Aeration Activated Sludge Process (EAASP) and Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR), while eliminating the shortcomings of both these technologies. ICSR is a continuous flow (continuous feed and continuous overflow) system like and EAASP, with a dedicated clarifier that is separate from aeration tank.

MBRs are later entrants as advanced technology in biological treatment of waste-waters, and still evolving. ADVENT has been a pioneer in using MBR for recycling applications in synthetic organic chemical industry, a field where even the global majors have very few installations, or none. ADVENT can select, suggest and provide the most suitable of a variety of MBR configurations, depending upon the process requirements from the myriad options of tubular cross flow, tubular air-lift, tubular hybrid, submerged hollow-fibre, submerged flat sheet, submerged hybrid, and so forth. Deep understanding of the application vis-à-vis the MBR technology can help ADVENT’s customer get optimized and reliable solutions whenever there is a need of high quality treated effluent. ADVENT has successfully completed MBR projects upto 1500 m3/d.

Advent - Model TMF - Tubular Membrane Filtration

Tubular Membrane Filtration is a highly specialized membrane treatment process with niche applications such as in removal of emulsions including emulsified oil, removal of heavy metals, reduction of calcium and magnesium hardness, reduction of dissolved silica, etc. Unlike any other microfiltration or ultrafiltration configurations, TMF systems are not limited by concentrations of TSS and Turbidity that can be fed to the system and in fact, the system requires circulation of 3-5% slurry through the tubular membranes. Re-circulation of slurry through the tubes help to keep the membrane surface clean by continuous scouring, thereby preventing fouling of membrane.

Advent - Model AMBC - All Membrane Brine Concentration System

AMBC is truly a global technological breakthrough in Forward Osmosis based Desalination. AMBC starts where RO stops; in other words, while conventional seawater RO can achieve about 7 – 8% TDS concentration limited by the present commercially available membranes, AMBC utilizes special membranes and a highly concentrated draw solution that concentrates the feed brine from 7 – 8% to as high as 12 – 16% (depending upon stages, even more), without increasing the pressure beyond the 70 – 80 bar that is normal for any high recovery seawater RO.
