ETS Phase III Allocation Calculator Software
Aether worked on a DECC and Environment Agency project to further develop the EU-Emissions Trading Scheme Phase III Allocation Calculator tool. The Calculator has been developed to analyse the effects of new methods to allocate emission allowances to installations. The tool was used by DECC during EU negotiations on allocation methods. Following agreement of these methods, the Calculator will be used to generate installation level allocations for the UK National Implementation Measures (NIMs).
Tracking Action on Carbon Emissions Software
Aether developed the concept and prototype version of TrACE for the Energy Savings Trust. This was a freely available spreadsheet based tool for Local Authorities to use to track action on carbon emissions across a wide variety of types of local intervention. TrACE could be used to record and monitor progress on measures to reduce emissions and provide summary evidence for senior managers and auditors.
Virtual Team Room software
Justin Goodwin has been working with TNO to develop a conceptual design and prototype for an IT solution called the Virtual Team Room (VTR) to support the UNFCCC expert reviews of Annual Inventories submitted under UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol. The project assessed the current business processes for the expert reviews and proposed developments to manage the workflow, communications, data analysis and the tracking and resolution of issues during an Article 8 review.
