The Abbe Refractometer Model AR-001 is designed to provide a Refractive Index measurement (nD) and Brix measurement for transparent, semitransparent and solid matter. The instrument can be connected to a thermostatic bath for accurate measurements over a temperature range of 0° – 70°C (32° - 158°F). The Abbe Refractometer is widely used in the oil industry, pharmaceuticals, paint, food processing, chemicals, sugar refineries, gemologic applications, schools and research centers.

A brix refractometer is the instrument used to measure refractive index of an item`s sucrose (Brix) level.

They are fast, convenient, and easy to use. Simply place a drop or two of fluid in the well and press a button on the keypad. The custom-designed microprocessor delivers a nearly instantaneous readout in refractive index, degrees Brix, or any one of a thousand different units of measure, allowing you to read directly in the units you desire. Nonlinear temperature compensation is automatic and insures that fluids read between 0 and 50 °C (+32 to 122 °F) are measured accurately. The large dual-line LCD display is easily read, even in dim light, and removes the subjectivity associated with interpreting where a boundary line crosses tiny scale divisions. And, it is so easy to use! The user interface consists of two buttons, one to take readings and the other to step through various menu options. All are easily transportable for field use, simple to use, and require only an outside light source to be functional. Models with the ATC designation are Automatic Temperature Compensated over a 40º F temperature range.

Our adapters are custom made to your specifications, to any size and made out of any kind of material you specify. We can provide a spool adapter with tri-clamps for pipe applications, doughnut for pan application or whatever is required for your particular application.

On some applications, where a standard or extended adapter will not meet the requirement, a chemically inert extension probe can be used for required measurement readings.
