Water Purification

Biological Water Purification Services

In a biological wastewater purification plant, the purifying microorganisms break down the organic contaminants in the wastewater. They consume oxygen during this process, which is introduced into the water using aerators. During the purification process, the microorganisms accrete as slurry flakes (bio-slurry or activated slurry). These slurry flakes are subsequently separated from the purified wastewater through settlement or through membrane filtration.

Slurry Flows Services

We remove the slurry from the site for the food and drink and tobacco industry. These residual flows contain little dry matter and therefore are not yet suitable for use in biogas plants. This is why these flows are often supplied to industrial and other water purification plants. A biological process is first started up in these plants, after which the slurry is dehydrated. At this point the dehydrated slurry contains a much higher concentration of dry matter (approx 20%). After the dehydration process, the slurry is suitable for processing in biogas plants for the generation of biogas. AgriBioSource removes the slurry from the site, supplies it to the water purifications plants and cleans the silos where the slurry was stored.
