Library Services
Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson runs a state-of-the-art legal research facility to enhance the firm’s professional services. Our library holds an extensive collection of printed law reports, unpublished decisions and legal texts. As well, we subscribe to numerous CD-ROM and Internet databases accessible from the lawyers’ desktops. Our Knowledge Centre, created and maintained by the library staff, offers classified Internet resources, research databases, knowledge bases, legislation and case law databases, to name only a few. This advanced Web-based system, a first among law firm libraries in our province, provides our lawyers with up-to-date information anywhere anytime. It enables us to make informed decisions and respond faster to our clients’ needs.
Technology Services
Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson is committed to the implementation and use of current technologies to support the provision of its legal services. Our Systems Department works with the various practice groups in developing technology strategies to meet their clients’ needs, including practice-specific applications for litigation support, corporate records management and legal research databases. As a department we provide technology tools and application training to allow lawyers to carry on their practice anywhere in the world while maintaining contact with our office and with their clients. We strive to maintain our competitive edge and continue to raise the quality of the client service provided, through the use of technology.
