Site development, land clearing, and construction projects often involve expansive earthwork with the potential to generate airborne dust which could impact receptors.  Some sites may contain legacy contamination that has uncharacterized hazardous constituents or simply generate harmful quantities of dust that can be harmful to receptors. Developments in densely populated urban environments present challenges for construction companies because of close proximity to inhabitants.

Sites undergoing intrusive remediation have the potential to release contamination into the ambient air. To mitigate this problem, many regulatory agencies require that a Perimeter Air Monitoring (PAM) or Community Air Monitoring Plan (CAMP) be written and implemented.

Demolition projects are some of the dustiest operations in the contracting world.  And, many older buildings contain hazardous elements that may generate potentially harmful dust when disturbed or demolished.

AirLogics’ real time methane monitors support the collection of data to help quantify and reduce methane emissions.

Many industrial and manufacturing facilities, sewerage treatment plants, landfills, and other commercial operations generate emissions, odors, and other constituents that could migrate beyond the fence line.  These facilities may have stack emissions or odor control equipment installed that require permitting and/or monitoring for verification.

Environmental justice (EJ) initiatives and legislation are increasingly introduced at every level of government. This legislation will likely spur additional air quality monitoring requirements for the regulated community (industry) and may prompt communities or their representing non-governmental organization (NGOs) to introduce air quality compliance requirements.  We anticipate that ambient air monitoring equipment and data regarding air quality impacts will be called for where there has never been such monitoring before.
