Flow Switches
Ameritrol - Model FX Series - Flow Switches
The FX series flow switch is the most reliable flow switch available. The thermal dispersion principle of operation features no moving parts and provides an extremely reliable and repeatable switch for the most demanding industrial applications. The sensor head employs two temperature sensors with a constant very low power heating source physically attached to one of the temperature sensors. The second temperature sensor is isolated from the heating source and provides compensation for changing process temperatures. As flow changes so does the temperature differential.
Ameritrol - Model FM Series - Flow Switches
The FM series is designed to provide an extremely reliable flow switch at a very cost effective price. This series replaces the standard explosion proof enclosure utilized in our FX series with a general purpose enclosure. The thermal dispersion principle of operation measures a temperature differential between a heated and a reference temperature sensor. The differential varies as flow across the sensor changes. This allows the flow switch to detect the increase or decrease of flow of virtually all liquids, gases and slurries. The electronics feature a SPDT relay switch output with options for power input of 120 VAC, 12VDC, and 24 VDC or VAC. Field calibration is easily performed by adjusting a potentiometer on the circuit board.
Ameritrol - Model FD Series - Flow Switches
The FD flow switch features the same no moving part priciple of operation as is the lowest cost switch we offer. The low cost is achieved by limiting the process connection to 3/4″ MNPT and power input to 24 VDC. The sensor head is type 316L Stainless Steel and the output is an SPDT relay. The FD flow switch works using thermal dispersion technology where the temperature of a heated sensor is compared to the temperature of an unheated sensor. This temperature difference is greatest at no flow and decreases as flow rate increases. The unheated sensor acts as a reference such that the instrument only senses flow rate changes and is unaffected by process temperature changes.
Ameritrol - Model IX Series - Flow Switches
The IX series inline flow switch is designed to easily adapt to line sizes from ?” tubing to ¾” pipe and can sense low flow rates down to 0.5cc/second in air, 0.025cc/second in water, and .01cc/second in oil. Please refer to the FX Series for larger line sizes. This sensor offers an extremely reliable and repeatable instrument for industrial process control and features no moving parts exposed to the product being monitored. The device operates by measuring a temperature differential between a heated and a reference temperature sensor within the sensor body. The temperature differential is greatest at no flow and decreases as flow increases.
Level Switches
Ameritrol - Model LX Series - Level Switches
The LX series level switch is the most versatile instrument ever designed for level control. One unit can be field calibrated to detect the interface of air/foam, foam/liquid, oil/emulsion, emulsion/water, oil/water, and a solid in a liquid.
Ameritrol - Model LM Series - Level Switches
The LM series is designed to provide an extremely reliable level switch at a very cost effective price. This series replaces the standard explosion proof enclosure utilized in our LX series with a general purpose enclosure. The principle of operation measures a temperature differential between a heated and a reference temperature sensor (see figure above). The differential varies as the type of product surrounding the sensor changes. This allows the level switch to detect a greater number of different products than any other currently available technology. The different product types are shown below in the sensor output chart. The field adjustable set-point can be adjusted to detect any two products shown. The electronics feature a SPDT relay switch output with options for power input of 120 VAC, 12 VDC, and 24 VDC or VAC. Calibration is easily performed by adjusting a potentiometer on the circuit board.
Ameritrol - Model SL Series - Level Switches
The SL series sanitary level switch has been designed to meet the most critical liquid level detection applications in the food, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and water treatment industries. Tri-clamp quick disconnect caps are standard for 3A applications and special polished/electropolished finishes of 15Ra or better are available to meet the more stringent demands of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
Ameritrol - Model QL Series - Level Switches
The QL series level switch offers the same reliability as our LX series and also offers a faster response time. The QL series level switch offers versatility not seen in other level control devices. One unit can be field calibrated to detect the interface of air/foam, foam/liquid, oil/emulsion, emulsion/water, oil/water, and a solid in a liquid. The instrument can detect agitation in a tank, vessel, or pond. It can also be used as a universal high level switch that will quickly alarm if any type of liquid comes in contact with the probe. In applications where response time is critical the QL series level switch responds three times faster then our standard LX level switch.
Temperature Switches
Ameritrol - Model TX Series - Temperature Switches
The TX and TM series of temperature switches offer a completely electronic instrument to detect the increase or decrease of temperature. These switches are used in industrial applications including pipelines and tanks. The RTD sensor provides an extremely reliable and repeatable device at a very cost effective price. 316L stainless steel is standard for all wetted surfaces, exotic alloys such as Hastelloy C276 are available upon request. A relay output is standard with options for dual separately adjustable set-points. Remote mounted electronics are available for process temperatures to 900F.
Ameritrol - Model TM Series - Temperature Switches
The TM series of temperature switches is a completely electronic instrument that detects the increase or decrease of temperature. These switches are used in industrial applications including pipelines and tanks. The RTD sensor provides an extremely reliable and repeatable device at a very cost effective price. The TM Series has a general purpose enclosure while the TX Series has and explosion proof NEMA 4X enclosure. 316L stainless steel is standard for all wetted surfaces, exotic alloys such as Hastelloy C276 are available upon request. A relay output is standard with options for dual separately adjustable set-points. Remote mounted electronics are available for process temperatures to 900F.
