Traditional Instruments Types & Models
Model Micro SV - Ideal For Measuring Sea Surface Sound Velocity For Multi-Beam Systems
AMLs’ Micro SV provides single-sensor, direct measurement of sound velocity in a very small package. It is ideal for measuring sea surface sound velocity for multi-beam systems. It is also appropriate for integration into AUV or ROV systems. Like all AML sound velocimeters, the Micro SV directly measures the time-of-flight of an acoustic ping. Time-of-flight measurement technology is between 5 and 10x more accurate than traditional CTD based sound velocity equations such as Chen & Millero or Del Grosso.
Model Minos CTD - Ideal For Salinity Profiles From Small Launches
The Minos CTD is a logger that was specifically designed for vertical profiles from small launches or boats. ½ the size of a CTD Plus v2, this instrument is much easier to handle in small spaces. The instrument also has an LED light which provides a visual status indicator to the end-user.
Model Micro T - High Speed Temperature Measurement
The Micro T is a high accuracy temperature sensor in a very small pressure housing. Like the Micro P, the instrument’s small size and rapid response time make it ideal for deployment on AUVs, ROVs and other underwater platforms. 25 Hz sampling makes the Micro T an ideal alternative for any platform moving quickly through the water column.
Model Minos SVP - Ideal For Sound Velocity Profiles By Hand or Small Winch
A logger, the Minos SVP was specifically designed for vertical profiles from small launches or boats. ½ the size of a SV Plus v2, the instrument is much easier to handle in small spaces. The instrument also has an an LED light which provides a visual status indicator to the end-user.
Model Smart CTD - Ideal For Real-Time Salinity And Density
AML’s smallest CTD ever, this instrument is ideal for real-time salinity and density studies. The Smart CTD is also appropriate for integration into AUV or ROV systems. The Smart CTD’s small size & mechanical flexibility ensure excellence of fit with any host. With 25Hz sampling and rapid sensor response times, the instrument provides high resolution data even in high-speed applications. Matched sensor response times eliminate the need for post processing of data. No pumps are required. Low power requirements make the Smart CTD a natural choice for systems on tight power budgets.
