Sediment Management

Natural Resources Managment

Anchor QEA provides fisheries, wetlands, wildlife, and water quality services that address impacts of new facility construction and/or support waterfront restoration efforts. Transportation Environmental Compliance

Anchor QEA offers comprehensive environmental compliance services, with a specialty in transportation projects, including highways, rail, ferry systems and airport facilities. We provide environmental planning, permitting, mitigation design, natural resources assessment, and other environmental review and compliance services for a variety of small and large transportation projects.

Environmental Planning

Anchor QEA excels at providing full-spectrum environmental planning services, including development of permit applications, mitigation plans, and environmental review documents such as checklists, EAs, and EIS documents. Our planners are experts in developing strategies and managing the regulatory processes to secure necessary environmental approvals at federal, state and local levels. We are skilled at preparing technical documentation in a variety of disciplines to evaluate and address project impacts and develop mitigation alternatives. We are also widely recognized for our ability to lead complex permitting processes involving multiple agencies and resource issues.

Engineering

Anchor QEA’s engineers are recognized leaders in design and management of nearshore- and aquatic-based engineering projects. We offer innovative and cost-effective technical solutions to address unique challenges on sites with complex issues. We work with our clients from the initial planning, site investigation, and feasibility evaluation stages, through design, bid plans and specifications, construction management, permit compliance, and environmental monitoring.

Construction Management

Our clients often ask us to help them get all the way through a project from initial investigations, to design, permitting and construction of the required facilities. It takes a group that is totally familiar with the construction process and working with contractors to help clients complete projects successfully. Anchor QEA provides Construction Management services either as a follow on to our design services or as an independent third party construction manager for our clients on projects designed by others. We oversee activities such as demolition, earthwork, dredging and capping, pile installation, concrete placement, utility placement, storm water facilities, engineered log structures, and other construction elements. Our certified construction professionals have managed award winning projects.

Habitat Restoration

Restoration and enhancement of fish and wildlife habitat are key features of many of our projects. Our approach to restoration design begins with understanding the physical and biological processes in play and developing a shared vision with our client. Our design team has designed and constructed restoration projects in a range of small forest streams, urban channels, and large meandering alluvial rivers. We also design tidal and non-tidal wetlands and shoreline parks that incorporate habitat restoration and public access. Our greatest technical expertise is fish habitat restoration, and we have prepared restoration designs for large river and floodplains, including channel relocation, engineered log jams (ELJ); side channel reconnections; and wetland and riparian habitats.
