Model Plas-TCat - Mixed Plastic Recycling

Many plastic packaging materials are unable to be recycled and are instead thrown away after a single use, often landfilled, incinerated, or littered, polluting land and oceans. To address this problem, Anellotech has created Plas-TCatTM: unlike the existing multi-step processes which first liquefy plastic waste back into low value “synthetic oil” intermediate products, Plas-TCat is a one-step thermal-catalytic recycling technology that can convert mixed plastic waste feedstocks, including composite films and other difficult-to-recycle materials, into the same basic chemicals (such as benzene, toluene, xylenes, ethylene, and propylene) that are used today to make most virgin plastics. Once utilized across the industry, Plas-TCat will be able efficiently recycle single-use and other plastics, one of the world’s most urgent challenges.

Model Bio-TCat - Renewable Chemicals & Fuels

Anellotech`s core technology, Thermal Catalytic Biomass Conversion (Bio-TCat) was developed to produce chemicals and fuels from renewable, non-food biomass. Based on scientific research initially performed in Professor George Huber`s laboratory at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, the process has subsequently been developed by Anellotech. Bio-TCat is covered under issued patents and filed patent applications owned by Anellotech, as well as those licensed on an exclusive and global basis from the University of Massachusetts. Anellotech’s patented Bio-TCat technology produces a mixture of benzene, toluene and xylene (AnelloMate™ BTX), which are bio-based and chemically identical to petroleum-derived counterparts.

Model TCat-8 - Pilot Plant

Anellotech’s patented Bio-TCat™ process is being demonstrated with pulpwood feedstocks at its TCat-8® pilot plant in in Silsbee, Texas. Operating inside the South Hampton Resources (SHR) chemical production site. T-Cat8 operate by Anellotech with assistance from IFPEN engineers and SHR operators. Anellotech’s work at T-Cat8 focuses on converting MinFree pine wood into hydrocarbons on a continuous, sustained basis, process optimization, collecting data needed for commercial scale Bio-TCat design and filling drums with tons of hydrocarbon for product development work. TCat-8’s operation has confirmed product yields and catalyst performance with extensive time on stream.
