APS Systems

APS - Water Management Systems for Aquaculture Production

Current APS Open Loop Systems range from 600 pounds to 1.5 million pounds of product and move over 20 million pounds of product through various customers per year. Open Loop systems use a source of fresh water (Sea/Lake/River) to flush ammonia (waste) from the system that can be deadly to the species being held. APS engineers are trained to calculate your freshwater requirement based on species, quantity being held, operation (Purging, Holding, Growing) and volume of water in tanks to calculate the exact need to maintain a 0 PPM ammonia concentration. Matching your new water needs with properly sized pumps, pipe, suction, discharge and drainage will ensure your power requirements are minimal while your water quality is maximum.

APS - Moving Bed Bioreactor (MBBR)

The APS MBBR is built on the best established principles from the industry that have been proven for decades... with an APS twist. The most costly portion of operating an MBBR is the aeration.  So APS has brought its superior aeration design from the lobster industry and adapted it to the MBBR to create an MBBR that is superior in energy savings, water movement to eliminate dead spots or clumping of media, and in delivery of oxygen to the nitrifying bacteria.  What this means is a highly efficient ammonia-eating machine with no moving mechanical parts in the water and the lowest energy consumption of its class.

APS - Vertical BioBed

When space is at a premium, it is cheaper to build up than out.  And so, the APS Vertical BioBed was born.  Now in use in many applications, it has proven to be effective and often is installed out of the way in unused space above a tank.  Due to the nature of the design, the weight of the BioBed is minimal compared to other biofilter styles where building above a tank may be cost-prohibitive due to structural requirements.
